Well. . . I take Canon trek with a grain of salt. And I think I have made it clear I take MUCH of SFB stuff with TWO grains of salt. I have long thought about an 18 point engine for the Saladin. I used it as the Larson class. Not only a "new engine", but a bit more structure for things like a "shuttle bay". (although, today, my Larson is much more modest: 4 P1's and 3 Photons with the standard 15 pt engine) But with two engines. . .it is hard to imagine something other than a Locknar or NCL in terms of capability. BTW: Care to make a model of the Pompeii?

I'd like a Pompeii too please!
Yeah, sometime soon...
You realize if you give the Saladin the 18-pt engine she'll have to turn at D, which would be frustrating when the Klingon destroyers are zipping about.
Pompeii has 2 X 12-pt engines, the "short" variety which enables it to retain a turn mode of C and a movement cost of .67.

You pump four overloaded photons into a Klingon destroyer, followed by a barrage from the phaser battery. . .it won't be zipping around!

Bah. A fed can ALWAYS get in a good initial shot. It is getting the SECOND shot that is going to be a problem!

Bah. A fed can ALWAYS get in a good initial shot. It is getting the SECOND shot that is going to be a problem! If the Klink charges in with no regard for an alpha strike, I agree. But if he/she has enough sense to use the proximity scan panel in conjuction with cloak, ECM, or distancing, you're in for some frustrating missing for some time, if not the entire battle unless you get some combat tractoring into the mix. But back to the subject at hand. You know what a TOS-era SCS needs? TOS-era fighters. The game's suck anyway.
