I just took in the Pusher, the Sublight Carrier Pod, and a modified Monarch that carried fighters, and we just cruised along at a speed of 5 and slowly but surely repelled the attack of two Klingon frigates and one destroyer. Now that's what I call a self-sufficient convoy! Freighters are always going to be vulnerable because of their slow speed, so a good convoy needs strong shielding and lots of missiles and fighters to attack and distract the enemy at the same time. I might post some screenies tomorrow....

A+ for original thinking.
Any chance you can add the pods below the ship instead of being in front?
One and two pod variants would be extra uber cool too. They would be very useful in the OP+ mod.
Qapla!

Very interesting! Nice work as always though, especially for being so original with the "pusher" - nice to see something a bit more "out there" like that ;D

Qapla! KF I thought about making a double-canister version of it to beef it up and give it more symmetry, but if I did that I really think it would give the game a lot of choppiness. Making a canister, especially one with all those holes in the front, takes up a lot of polies, and if in a convoy you have two pushers that would mean four canisters, whcih comes to be over 8000 poly for them alone. Then there's all the other ships that would probaly be there. I want people to have a nice easy time using my stuff, I don't want it to slow their game down.

Well Atrahasis. I love your freighters too.
And Apparently. I am still alive.
This appears to be one of the last refuges of SFC modelling and it's fans, that still caters to Pre-SFC3 stuff.
It's good to have finally actually noticed this link on the sidebar.

And even after all these years I still feel OP is the only Trek game that captures what fans like about Starship combat and galactic conquest, all in one game. The progressing timeline for one is what sets it hugely apart from SFC 3. True, there are some issues with OP that I can nitpick with, for example the hardpoints for most of the UI's that represent canon ships need to be drastically overhauled. But hey, I've found ways to compensate for that of course. Maybe not too long from now I'll share my methods with others at these forums.

Hopefully, the source code will be released soon, and this might allow those UI's to be edited, god willing. Ofcourse, I need to get OP first. I'm still playing EAW. Not that exterminating the Klinks as the Mirak isn't any fun, ofcourse... ;D

It comes down to the same petty politics that the jerks of the SFC community (and you know who they are) are famous for!

Knowing them.....it wouldn't matter much. But hope is usually good.

Knowing them.....it wouldn't matter much. But hope is usually good. Well, if you really consider who can do the most with the source code, and then compare those people with the people who have so far abstained from releasing it, and then consider the enmity between the two groups, then you'll realize that releasing the source code is not in the best interests of the petty ones. In fact, releasing the source code is like handing victory over to their enemies.
