On the easily-recognizable prop front, I was incredibly annoyed with the recent episode featuring Xena Warrior Princess as someone making a "BSG Survivor" reality show, where all her camerapersons were sporting Panasonic DVX-100 camcorders... and, this is what a techno-nerd I am, I was mostly offended because the alleged video from those cameras was so horrible, when in actuality, it could give the cameras they shoot the series with a run for their money...

I have to agree that the props department is really sad on the shoe. I kind of started losing respect for the show in the first season when it became obvious the Marines on this ship could have walked off of any modern TV drama.
Just plain laziness.
And I also have a big problem with the whole "hacked network" thing. I mean, if you can hack a hard wired network. . then you can hack the individual computers that are NOT on the network.
* * * * **
But on the other side. . .I am intruiged with the whole combat aspect of these ships. How do you corner a battlestar if it can just jump to another star system on 2 minutes notice? The whole rapid launch/rapid recovery needs of the fighters is fascinating and worth exploring.
Does this make commerce raiding practically impossible?
And how can you defend a world when your enemy can pop in with no advance warning? I mean, if a base star pops in on bearing 60, drops 50 fighters with Nukes then jumps to bearing 120 and repeats. .. .then jumps to bearing 270 and repeats. . . .how do you defend from a near instantaneous multidirectional attack?

Lasers...or some kind of lightspeed or translight weapon....and frickin lots of them in a big network.
Something like that could have been what Baltar had designed.

Well I'm happy to see that Jan 10th will see the start of season two's transmission in the UK... and teasers have started too. It's been too a long wait.
