I miss the 80's...where it was the West vs the Commies, in a technological/strategic race that forced both sides to come up with new and clever things and ways of beating each other.
And then I think of Doctor Who, The Master's comment that "A universe without the Doctor scarcely bears thinking about". The Master could never bring himself to kill the Doctor outright, because they were actually yin and yang together.
But now who do we have to fight? Terrorists? Blah.
Bring back the Cold War! ;D
You've gotta admit, we liked it better when the Feds were at war with the Klingons.

I have to admit, it was nice when the enemy wasn't a faceless, insidious bunch of guys who wanted to run planes into buildings. Much better when the main threat was nuclear annihilation at the hands of Commies ;D
