I know it got a bad rap, but as a family show I greatly approve! It's innocent and I like the deal with the Galactican kids playing around on Earth. To view them for free go to www.veoh.com and search galactica.

Please.
And we thought "Enterprise" was bad!

But it has the virtue of having been from a more innocent time in broadcasting where people aren't shagging whilly-nilly in every episode. To find it interesting I think you have to put off the expectation of getting thrills or shocks, and maybe look forward to other things like spending quality time with your young kid(s).

Atra, you will find few bigger fans of the original (and to me, quite frankly, the only real) Battlestar Galactica than me. But even I can't get behind Galactica 1980. I mean, yeah, OK, it was cool when I was 10. With the exception of the Starbuck episode, it just can't hold a candle to its parent series...

Oh I totally agree it wasn't as good as the first season, but if you put yourself in the mind of a ten-year old, Galactica 1980 is sort of cool in a more low-budget way. It seems to create a special kind of endorphin for me as opposed to adrenalin.

I think that's what I just said. Anyway, I see the entire season's going to cost like $20 (US) on DVD at Amazon, so I'll probably have to pick that up just for the Starbuck episode... and, of course, to look back in awe at just how mind-numbingly bad the rest of it was... But just for the record... it's still better than Enterprise.
