Well duh, it took me three days to notice this new sub-forum. These are beautiful. I think I like the paint job on the D6 and D7C better than the D7. It's interesting that the Romulan D7's have a design around the torpedo tube reminiscent of the K'tinga.

I've been wondering, what is the cone inside the torpedo tube?

It's an "antenna" in the "sensor tube". The model kits all had it, and it's a detail that you probably would've been able to see had the tube ever been lit on the original studio model. But of course HP 1 is located there in case you want to make it a torp tube.
