The E-4 and F-5 will sport newer and more innovative hulls while still matching the top-down SFB pics that we all know.

cool design didn't know this ship design since i'm not that interested in SFB and are you only using the SSD's and the written explanation+your imagination to make those ships

I use all the info at my disposal to make my best guess, which includes the write-up and description of the ship in the module, the SSD which shows me the approximate location of the weapons and the arrangement of bays, the start year which guides me as to the general style, and finally the top-down drawing which I try to approximate as closely as possible. There was no top drawing for this one, so I just extrapolated that it used a widened aft hull, but I could tell from the firing arcs of the main phaser-2 that it uses an E-4 pod. The E-4 aft body and the F-5 will be different beasts entirely, and will represent the military-grade versions which these older designs finally evolved into, within a decade or two. The G-2 was a discarded E-3 design, and the E-3 itself was discarded by the Deep Space Force (DSF)and given to the Internal Security Force (ISF) because it underperformed, which meant that the ISF was comprised of combinations of G-2's and E-3's with G-4's modified from one of these designs. In the meanwhile, the DSF used exclusively E-4's and up, which means you know that those designs had to be really stylin;. Also, since these are small ships, I keep an eye on how many decks they have and what they can possibly hold and have a general idea of the internal layout. I encourage people to think of internal layout and deck arrangement, otehrwise you end up adding shwacks of meaningless windows which may screw things up.

Personally. . .I thought the F5 model produced by the SFB crowd was totally horrid. Feel free to make something TOTALLY different And yes. . .I will use this as my F5 as well. The G4 simply doesn't see the light of day in my shiplist, and is generally pruned out like all Commando ships.
