Weeeeeeeee!!!
My Romulan model folder is getting rather large now. Good thing I have OP sat on a drive with about 90GB free at last count.... ;D

Umm, Atra, the forward edge of the ship is a mess poly wise.

What the hell, Mariner? This model has ONLY 2970 polies and you go and complains about them being a mess? I don't get it. It looks fine in visible mode, with no errors or overlaps ... I guess some folks just aren't happy unless they find something to bitch about. Sheesh ... JM. Look at the wireframe. You'll see what I'm talking about. Okay, personally, I hate the AMT Eagle, but the fact that he's gone the length to make it a logical Romulan variant BOP is pretty cool. That had nothing to do with my statement about the front edge of the ship being a mess (which, incidentally, may have been my fault, as I asked him to increase the poly count in that area initally. I'm sorry in that case.)

Actually, I downloaded it and then looked to see what you were talking about before initially posting. Once again, it would seem those without talent are all too quick to make demands. Your initial comment was crass and your presumptuous, pretentious, and insensitive follow up post only added insult to injury. I find it disturbing that the only thing you find worth apologizing over is asking for more polys in the first place. I'll break it down for you. What you did here was bust the guy's chops on his own public forum, and honestly, and perhaps even more disturbingly, you're not the first to do it lately. What you had to say could have easily been (and probably should have easily been) expressed in a PM. Just a little courtesy and respect go along way to keeping us motivated for doing this ... that's all. Think about it. JM. Isn't this PM material, or do you just like hogging the limelight? Sorry for not being more specific. It just seems like a lot of wasted vertexes and polygons in areas that are essentially smooth. I can also spot some surface "pulling" and surface errors in Model Viewer. It just struck me as very odd, because usually your models are incredibly well-trimmed.

You're right that it does have a lot of polies there, because I had to use the "smooth" function in Max which makes it sort of "organic", and then I used the poly-reduce function, which doesn't make it as well-trimmed as I'd like unless I want to change the shape. It's just the nature of the beast. Anyways, my goal was to make a presentable and usable model, absolute perfection is not always desirable in every case unless you want to spend a lot of time correcting something which doesn't make that much of a difference.

Would you mind if I went in Max and trimmed it down? I know how to fix it without altering the shape. I'm a bit OCD. Konwing it's there bothers me.

I think it's sweet, and I can't wait to do battle with it! Any thoughts on what a Vulture dreadnought would look like? ;D

No rush, just wondered if it was something you had thought about.

Quite a few years fiddling with Max. That, and the ship only needs a poly-stitching job, which is more time-consuming than challenging.
