This is based on Azel's redesign of FASA's Klingon D-11 One-Wing class Destroyer. The mesh is all but done, and I've now started working on textures - anyway, here's where she stands at the moment: MajorRacal

That's looking pretty sweet, man! I like the light drab coloring. I've never been a fan of the TNG green for klingons.

Me neither... It's too garish.

Yeah, but you can't deny the resemblance to the Breen... It's an interesting take on the design, but it just screams TNG-era to me rather than TMP...

I dunno why, I don't see anything of the TNG Klingons in it, besides the lack of the dayglo vomit-green and orange colour scheme, also it's not composed of thick slab-sided chunks like the Vor'cha or Negh'var. While it does preserve much of the design influences of the K'T'inga.
The only resemblance to the breen is they are both asymmetrical. By which logic the Constitution and the K'T'inga resemble each other because they're both symmetrical, doesn't really make much sense does it? I mean it's fairly lame that it took until the late '80s for anyone to try an asymmetrical design of any kind, and FASA made a real hash of it kind of discouraging the idea for a while. The designers on DS9 thought they were being really original with the Breen cruiser but as we can see, not really.
As I said on WZ's boards, MR, looking very good.

Merry Christmas to you too.
I just DL'd her. She looks great, man! Cool to see another of Atolm's creations come to life.
As far as spec'ing her out for SFC2 goes... I realise that she's supposed to be 1/2 of a D7 (or K'tinga, in this case), but if you just went that route she'd be underpowered and have some pretty nasty "blind spots" in her firing arcs. How about 2 disruptors and 2 photons (looks like 1x FA, 1x RA) with D5 engines (2 x 12), which would give her the 210 degree disruptor arcs, and 2/3 movement cost. With the D5's phaser suite, as well (2xP1 KFX, 1xP1 LW, 1xP1 RW, 2xP3 RRR, 2xP3 LLR). 2xAPR, 3xBatts, 5xImp. D7C command and control rooms. No drones and a small shuttle bay (2x).
Her whole reason for being refitted could be because of her heavy cruiser command capabilities.

Thanks Rod,
You know me, I really don't mind how she's used once she's left the nest. In the original FASA specs her performance was utterly woeful - your ideas sound more than suitable.

When I say that it looks TNG to me, it's not because of any resemblance to the TNG Klingons, just that an asymmetrical ship looks to be more advanced. Perhaps I should have specified post-TNG... And, like you say, it reminds me of the Breen largely in that the Breen are the main asymmetrical ship that's ever been seen in Trek. But it's a little more than that--the way the command pod attaches to the curved boom has some definite similarities to the Breen, IMO. Now, in no way should that be interpreted as me accusing either Atolm or MajorRacal of "ripping off" the Breen ship designs, or in any other way dissing the ship. It's an interesting take on the idea; given the weird sort of things that FASA added onto some of their Constitution clones, I'm surprised they didn't come up with something more original than the original "One Wing." Nicely done, both of you. ;D

Asymmetrical design isn't a new thing..goes way back in the history of flight.. the Breen designs were obviously influnced from the old Nazi Blohm & Voss aircraft builder... Great design..and uses proper physics... 2 Thumbs Up!!

In regards to specifying;
I never quite "got" the one-wing. In terms of "half a D7", that does not cut it for me since this ship still has dual engines.
But since the engines are buried in the hull. . .the standard engine mount disruptors won't work. How about making it a PHASER BOAT?
Or. . .how about a drone ship with a big forward shuttle bay? Say, 5 drone racks and 7-9 phasers with a 5 spot shuttle bay. Size and cost would be a full blown heavy cruiser.

I always thought it would make a good tug if you used pallets instead of pods. Or, maybe a through-deck carrier...
