Given that it entered service in the 2230's, what would a Starfleet version of this ship look like? Well, along with a standard blue-grey paint job, I'd guess that it had a Starfleet bridge module (Republic type perhaps?) a backlit/nonbacklit deflector mounted on a separate pod, so as to not interfere with the "pushing" hook-ups (or, it could be grafted onto/cut into the front of the lower boom, which would give it a good forward view no matter what. If the four aft engines are warp engines (which they'd have to be, unless your telling me that those tiny side mounted toothpicks are actually nacelles. ,) then I'd imagine Starfleet might want to beef those up too. I'd imagine that the ends of the nacelles would be of the Second Pilot "Holy" type (get it, holes, holy ;D), with each little hole made a bit bigger and lit blue to show some color. Starfleet pennants and what not are standard, along with shuttlebays on the left and right parts of the aft main hull (the sides that slope back.) As for any registry scheme, I'd suggest something starting from NCC-P150 to NCC-P250, as the P stands for "Police," which is what this thing would probably be in my eyes (and what I did for the police ships in my shipnames). This is almost in the same manner that TAS used for their freighters, which makes sense if only captial ships (Light Cruiser and above) get "normal" regsitries. Anything below (Destroyer or Scout for example) would get registries like NCC-D500 or NCC-S595 (those look familiar? ) Ofcourse you can number them however you want, considering it doesn't really matter. ;D EDIT: Oh yeah, one thing about the engines. Those four caps must be rotated to that the top parts are facing toward the center of the ship. This make better symmetry than having all four oriented upright. ;D Alternatley, having them aranged to that the bottom set are upright and the top set are upside down would work too.

Those are great ideas.....basically this ship would be given a refit about equal to what the SFB Old Light Cruisers got. I like the idea of a Starfleet bridge module!

I'm glad you liked my Idea, and the suggestions from Mariner Class are great,I was just thinking of a new paintjob but like Mckoy said "..Engineers like to change things".. so if they got hold of the Monarch they would give it a complete refit it fact I could see almost a completey new ship born out of this.

Change is great, but if you can make it reminiscent of something canon it has a special ring to it. For example, has anyone else noticed that the basic hull shape of the Monarch is basically that of a bulky Steamrunner? If I were to put nacelles at the wingtips it could very well pass for a starship....perhaps a police cruiser of sorts?

Yes your right..I mean I just wanted a "new" looking Monarch with a Starfleet feel to it but clearly looking like a Monarch.

Well, if you want to move the warp engines to the ends of the "hammerhead," you'd be able to have more internal space for cargo and be able to mount containers both forward and behind it. A one-off custom yard project perhaps? Besides there's no reason you can't have both... Hey, I just thought of something. What if some other races "refitted" some of their Monarchs, like the Romulan version carrying small disruptor cannons, aft tail fin and a feather pattern. The Mirak version could have missile booms on it's sides, and mount a vestegial arrowhead on it's front. I could go on for days like this... ;D

Well, If you ask me, the Corps of Engineers also seem to be cheap sometimes. In all probability, they'd just refit the bridge and the rest of the ship with standard Starfleet controls and computer systems and do the blue and grey standard paint scheme, and a starfleet registry. Probably even just change the ships control panels....maybe not even. Who knows....it's all conjecture.

Maybe there can be more than one Starfleet version....
