Hi all,
So I'm working on my Battlestar Galactica (original series) FPS game now! It'll be a playable demo with a real story to it. Expect greatness.
But I'm having a tough time locating some sound effects! I wonder if anyone can help me out. I need some BSG laser sounds (from the original series). I've tried ripping utube vids but I can never get a clear example of a single shot. I tried using Adobe Premier to open Battlestar (.avi) episodes but they seem to be copy-protected or something, because although I can load the pic file to be edited, the sound component doesn't seem to load.
The actual sound file in (.wav) or (.mp4) format would be good, or some suggestions as to how to acquire!

Re: Adobe Premier not getting the sound - d'you happen to know what audio codec the AVI files use? It might be that Adobe can't decode the audio stream as it doesn't have anything to decode it with.
Will go hunt for my CD of BSG AVIs, but a) they aren't very high quality and b) I haven't got a ******* clue where that disc might be ;D

IN the properties it says MPEG Layer-3? I have no idea what that means.

That's MP3, although I'm surprised that it uses that and that your software won't open it. There's probably some encryption going on. After all, we all know that the entertainment industry is going to go bankrupt due to piracy if they don't make their products as frustrating to use as possible.

Adobe Premier seems to be able to play MP4 and WAV but not MP3. WHo made that brilliant decision?
Anyways, my need for the BSG laser sounds persists. I've already signed a partner on to do the project with me and I've gotten him really enthused about it. We're going to use it in our portfolios but even beyond that I have big plans for it.

Holy frak! YES YES YES please give them to me! atrahasis1@hotmail.com . My partner and I have already made headway in designing the environment. I'll just say it involves pyramids. Oh and be prepared to face off with the IL-series droids as well, in a way you've never seen them before.

Just sent the zipped file. I've been having problems with yahoo rejecting my emails, so let me know if you don't get it in the next 24 hrs.
BTW, I make my living as a video editor, so if there's a way I could help with any audio or video issues, let me know. I'd love to be able to contribute to the SFC community that I've benefited from the past few years.
Regards
